hello everyone i got many email asking about how to install android 4(ics) on galaxy ace so here is short guide

Update Galaxy ACE S5830 to CyanogenMod 9 

• Download latest ics rom from here
• Enter into cwm recovery by presing power+menu button after reboot release power button and you will enter into cwm recovery
• Wipe data and cache
• Now go to option " install zip from sdcard" and chose ics rom 
• Wait for device to reboot , 1st boot take some time

Now all done you are on android 4

In the process of the firmware update you will be losing all the data which is there in the phone which includes SMS, Contacts, images, videos, songs and other files which is there in the phone memory. You can move all the data to your phone’s internal / external SD card so that the data is safeguarded from getting deleted or corrupted. You can also refer the below tips or methods on how you can create a backup and then restore of all your data.

SMS – Use sms backup and restore app from market,

Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,

Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,

APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

Special Instructions for the users on Custom ROMs

There are many components which gets installed in the phone when you are on a custom ROM, so to clear all these you will need to get into the recovery mode and then you need choose the option of Wipe data/factory reset and after that select Wipe Cache partition. Reboot your device by selecting reboot system now after selecting the former options. As soon as you do so, all the cache files and the custom ROM specific files are erased completely after which it will now become safe to proceed with the instructions.

Step 1 – open odin

step 2 - select any s5830 firmware

Step 2 – Remove SIM and SD card, next connect your galaxy ace to the computer

Step 3 – Hold Volume down + Power + Home button at the same time

Step 5 – At this point Odin should have detected your SG Ace ( Yellow rectangle should appear);

Step 6 – Click Start button in Odin and wait about 5 min.

MY-Ui2 based on grif_7 cm7 rc1

Here it is cm7 based rom!

So what do you get in MY-Ui2. . .
Miui camera, music, gallery, browser, compass, notes and internet messaging.

You also get. . .
Miui style dialer and contacts, miui style Launcher, miui cm7 theme and a miui style lense lockscreen.

And lastly you get an extras zip. . .
the apps, wallpapers, mclock styles, launcher themes contained in it will improve the look and feel of the rom but are not a must.

And all that on a cm7 base, what more could you want?

Install the rom in the normal way using cwm, wipe system, partition and davick. Then flash zip.

To use extras download a file manager from market, I'd advise es file explorer and unzip. The reason no file manager is included is because es and root lose funtionality in system/app file.

This is not ROM, just some apps build in CWM package

This package include app based on SE Xperia
Like TimeScape, Xperia Launcher.
It's works on CM7.1 by Grif_07 so I am not responsible for Bricked your ACE if you try to another CM7



This update will not replace any app in /system/app
1. fixes some bugs on kernel version info disappear with removed MBE
2. Sony Sketch font as default font (for TimeScape pack only)
3. removed mobile bravia engine and xLoud (if you want you can still download it in other pack)
4. for additional build.prop you can find in /system
5. This package include TimeScape,Xperia Launcher and Sony sketch font and ClockWidget

make nandroid backup first.

If you want TimeScape only (i hope work for any CM7 based)

How to install if you are using older gc version
Go in cwm5
install from sdcard please not wipe any thing
now reboot
no wipe needed all your data will be as it is and apps also

How to install if you are from stock gingerbread rom
go in cwm
wipe data factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvic cache(not necessary)
install version 2.2 zip from sdcard
reboot
Then install v2.3 with out wipe anything
